Creating memorable moments of impact

As we mentioned in our last blog, we hosted our first Greenbridge Family Foundation Summit in late June 2022. While a portion of the Summit was dedicated to planning and strategic conversations, we were very excited to host the senior leadership of several of our impact partners.

As we planned our gathering, we were very aware that time is an incredibly limited and valuable resource for each of the individuals we invited, and we wanted to ensure that they walked away feeling like they gained something valuable. With this in mind, we sought to create a space where senior leaders could step out of the day-to-day stress of fundraising or ‘pitching’ and, instead, could focus on having meaningful conversations with peers.

We intentionally invited organizations across our issue portfolios, enabling folks to create connections that otherwise wouldn’t happen. The core program included a presentation by an amazing colleague of mine from Emergence Capital, Doug Landis on effective storytelling - an important skill for any organization. And for the final portion, Ann and I invited friends who share our passion for creating meaningful impact to join us and meet the leadership of our impact organizations.

As the event unfolded, I was amazed at how every guest rose to the occasion of the event - and actively contributed to its success. The conversations were rich and dynamic, with laughter erupting regularly. New ideas were raised around future collaborations between the organizations represented and several promises were made for longer, deeper dialogues following the event. It was great to see so many rush over to Doug with the desire to further unpack his ideas and how they would apply it to their organization and its mission.

The formal end to the event came and went and yet many stayed - for hours - to continue to deepen those connections. As I stood back, I felt we had lived up to one of Greenbridge’s core beliefs: creating memorable moments of impact.

We hope very much that this will be just the first of an annual Greenbridge Summit and impact partner gathering! Thank you so much to everyone who attended and made the event so special.
